Digital technologies can enable breakthrough innovations in many areas, including humanitarian work and development aid. Not surprisingly, developing countries constantly investigate and evaluate emerging digital solutions like blockchain. They can be a driver of social innovation in numerous areas and have the potential to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
In this talk, David Guthoff and Martin Breitsprecher will present a new foresight study they co-authored for GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. They will investigate how blockchain can contribute to finance sustainable development in partner countries of German development cooperation. The talk will focus on three main areas: 1) investments and payments, 2) transparency and verification, 3) governance and capacity.
The presentation will be held in English as a live online webinar. The participation is free of charge.
David Marten Guthoff works as a consultant at GFA Consulting Group GmbH on development issues of good financial governance in the field of public finance, internal control systems as well as quality assurance of risk mitigation management.
